A place for many things

Hi, I’m Christina —

I’m a writer by day and musician by night — and on the inside, I’m an old soul with a sunny personality. I’m unapologetic. I am deeply emotional. I am ambitious.

The point is, I am many things — as is this space. It’s mainly for music, but it’s so much more; it’s a place for my thoughts, my inspirations, my life in Richmond, and everything in between.

Whether you landed here from Instagram, word of mouth, or just a Google search, I hope you take a look around and stay a while.

Sincerely,

Christina Louise

Music

Christina Louise is a Richmond, Virginia–based artist blending blues rock, dark Americana, soul, and jazz-inspired elements into a sound that feels worn-in and deeply personal. Her music favors mood over polish—smoky vocals, understated guitar work, and songs that linger in the quiet moments rather than rushing toward resolution.

Influenced by blue-eyed soul greats like Norah Jones and Amy Winehouse, Christina draws from blues tradition while letting jazz phrasing and soul inflection shape her delivery. Her latest release, “Half-Smoked Cigarettes,” sits with longing and emotional aftermath, capturing the feeling of something left unfinished and marking a confident step forward in Christina’s songwriting.

Rooted in storytelling and mood, Christina Louise’s songs feel like late-night confessions—blues-forward, soul-soaked, and unapologetically honest.

April happenings

One positive of being laid off is that I’ve been able to pour into music a little more, including booking a few more gigs! April had a lovely start in southwest Virginia at Rising Silo Brewery, and I’m thrilled to announce some exciting shows & events I have coming up for the rest of this…

Hometown gigs this spring

I’m so excited to announce these hometown gigs! I’ve only had the opportunity to gig in Richmond thus far, so being able to play music back where it all began is really special. Both towns are my heart and soul, where little Christina climbed trees to play ukulele and first picked up the guitar. I’ll…

On Losing Words and the Language We Keep

My boyfriend and I often joke that we lose one vocabulary word every day. We don’t forget them exactly—more like watch them quietly slip out of use and disappear from daily conversation. Words now replaced by vaguer stand-ins, like good, nice, vibe, thing. Entire shades of meaning flattened into convenience. Vocabulary loss isn’t necessarily a …
