April happenings

One positive of being laid off is that I’ve been able to pour into music a little more, including booking a few more gigs! April had a lovely start in southwest Virginia at Rising Silo Brewery, and I’m thrilled to announce some exciting shows & events I have coming up for the rest of this month (& beyond):

First, something that has been in the works for a while: Virago Spirits is launching a weekly Singer/Songwriter Open Mic on Wednesdays from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm! I’m co-hosting with Louis Smith of Kendall Street Company, who kicks off the event TONIGHT! The event was born out of the desire to create a welcoming and open space for the songwriting community to share original songs, while enjoying tasty craft cocktails in Virago’s intimate setting. I host every other week, starting April 15th.

I’ll be back at Brambly Park on Saturday, April 18th for another outdoor set from 12 to 2:30 pm. Reservations are recommended!

Super excited to announce this one…

I got an email last week from the Broadberry Entertainment Group—who operate The Camel, Broadberry, and Richmond Music Hall—asking me to play an opening set for Ally Venable at Richmond Music Hall on Sunday, April 19th! I’ll be playing a set with Justin accompanying on keys to kick off the show at 8 pm. This will be my first opening for a non-local & touring band, and hopefully the momentum will continue with more opportunities like this through the Broadberry Entertainment Group! Tickets available here.

To top it all off, I’ll be playing an intimate set at Alchemy Coffee’s new sober speakeasy concept SoBar on Monday, April 20th. Time TBA! This is a free show, but seats are limited to 25 people.
