Happy September, From the Stage

Summer has been long and beautiful and fulfilling, and I know it’s not over quite yet (what do you mean it’s going to be a high of 106 today????) but I am ready for the fall.

Still, September brings its own array of lovely things to look forward to, like seeing Christina Louise (that’s me) perform live this month:

Kicking off the ‘ber months is tonight’s gig at Harry’s at Hof from 7 to 9 pm. I’m supposed to play the rooftop, but with the high temps looking awfully similar to those of hell, I’m prrreetttttyyy sure they’ll move me insideโ€”keep fingers crossed. The atmosphere inside the restaurant is truly a vibe; grab a cocktail, hang out at the bar, let me serenade youโ€”and if you’re feeling extra, you can even make a reservation. I’ll update on Instagram so make sure to follow me there!

Let’s hope the weather will be cooler onThursday, September 10th, when I’ll be back at Brambly Park from 5:30 to 8 pm. Their outdoor space is perfect for getting a crew together and sharing a pizza!

Justin & I will be performing at Hardywood Downtown as our duo Same Side Sitters on Saturday, September 12th. Again, we’re hoping the mid-September weather will be kind to us, andโ€”God willingโ€”it will be a beautiful day to lounge with a beer in hand. We play from 1 to 3:30 pm.

Okay, THEN my last September show is a big one & I do really hope you’ll come out for this: I was asked to open for Cobi on Tuesday, September 29th at Richmond Music Hall!!!! I’ll be playing a rare set of mostly originals, accompanied by (the one and only) Justin Paciocco. I’ve been calling Cobi the Temu Hozier for people who don’t know himโ€”but really, he’s insanely talented and I’ve been a fan of his music for many many years, so I am very excited. Doors at 7 pm, music at 8 pm. If you come see me only once this month, please let it be this one! Purchase tickets here.

Once we move into October (the best month of the year) I’ll be at Triple Crossing Fulton for a set from 6 to 8 pm on Friday, October 2nd. And more fall gigs in the works! As always, Instagram is a great way to stay up to date with the latest goings-on.

One more quick update: I recently started a new Substack called Room to Notice, where Iโ€™ll be sharing essays and observations on architecture, design, place, and the art of paying attention. Going forward, my more essay-driven writing will live there, while Sincerely, Christina Louise will stay firmly rooted in music. Think of them as my two alter egos.

That also means Iโ€™ll be sharing a little more of the music-making process hereโ€”behind-the-scenes moments, lyrics, works in progress, and whatever else feels worth letting you in on. Let me know what youโ€™d like to see more of!

I hope to see many of you at some point this month, and if not, HAPPY SEPTEMBER!

Sincerely,

Christina Louise
