Apartment C mood board 1.5.20

Today my apartment is my mood board. Since I’ve adopted this little bean, he’s been very curious. And this was the first time he ventured onto my desk. So as he was sitting pretty, I couldn’t help but snap this photo.

I took this photo the night I cleaned my desk (usually you can’t even see it under all the papers, journals, etc) so it’s only natural that Charlie would want to take a look around. But snapping this picture made me think a little differently about my space. I’ve always loved a minimalistic approach to home decor. And seeing fabulously decorated homes on instagram and in magazines makes it easy to wish I had the same. But I realized that I am way too much of a creative to have that kind of aesthetic. My walls are plastered with photos, maps, posters and magazine pages. My bookshelf is overflowing with books, my vinyl collection, odd knick-knacks and way too many magazines. There are plants and candles in every corner. Alright, so I may never have a crisply decorated place, but what my tiny little home does have is character. And I like it that way. And I think Charlie likes it this way too.
